Haysville edges Bat Cats, 9-6

HAYSVILLE 9, BAT CATS 6 — Haysville reliever Braxton Madrigal threw four shutout innings to preserve a 9-6 victory over the Great Bend Bat Cats Monday.

Great Bend (10-4) leads Haysville (9-4) and Derby Twins (9-4) by one-half game for first place in the Jayhawk Collegiate League.

The Bat Cats committed two errors that led to five unearned runs.

Great Bend's Kirby Orth drove home three runs and scored two runs. Delarco Delancy drove in one run.

The Bat Cats scratched out three hits, but stayed close with nine walks and four Haysville errors.
