Rose Hill Wildcats shock Bat Cats, 7-5

ROSE HILL WILDCATS 7, BAT CATS 5 — Bat Cats pitcher Carson Umphres cruised through five innings while Great Bend built a 5-1 lead.

The Rose Hill Wildcats scored six runs in the final two innings to rally for a victory. Landon Haines hammered the game-winning 3-run homer to shock the Bat Cats 7-5.

Reed Haneberg doubled and Austin Selenke homered to chase Umphrey after 61/3 innings and 102 pitches. Jackson Ellison and Josh Donna tagged reliever Daxton Minton for back-to-back singles. After a foul ball, Haines ripped the game-winning homer to ignite a wild Wildcat celebration. 

Kyle Walker scored on T.J. Shaw's first-inning groundout. Sam Soderstrom doubled home Ellison for a 1-1 tie.

Shaw's single scored Peanut Brazzle to ignite a 4-run third inning. Walker and Elias Leon scored on Andrugh Yee's groundout. Yee scored on Luke Nohinek's single for a 5-1 lead.

Haines tripled and scored on Soderstrom's sacrifice fly ball in the sixth inning.

Rose Hill reliever Holman shut out the Bat Cats for 41/3 innings with six strikeouts. Holman stranded Logan Ranken after a leadoff seventh-inning double.
