Larned (10-14, 5-8 CKL) has won seven of eight games. Nickerson drops to 9-17, 4-12 CKL.
LARNED 3, NICKERSON 1 (G2) — Larned pitchers Mason Miller (2-4) and Dominic Mead limited the Panthers to one run with eight strikeouts.
Third baseman Reece Morgan turned a second-inning double play with second baseman Conner Spreier. Morgan and catcher Owen Shaver turned a third-inning double play with the bases loaded.
Reece Morgan singled home Miller in the first. Luke Krehbiel scored on Reece Morgan's fly ball and Spreier scored on a second-inning error.
Rylan Morrell singled home Chase Welch for Nickerson's run. Reliever Fallon Rist (4-4) threw four shutout innings with eight strikeouts.
LARNED 11, NICKERSON 8 (G1) — Larned's Antonio Torres homered and doubled and drove home five runs to spark the Indians.
Easton Fox drove home two runs. Miller, Tristan Rega, Owen Shaver and Spreier also drove in runs.
Nickerson's Riley Brawner, Dale Smith and Easton Clifford each drove in two runs.
