GODDARD — No. 6 state-ranked 5A Great Bend cruised past Goddard 25-14, 25-19 and Hutchinson, 25-13, 25-14 to stay unbeaten.

The Panthers (14-0) featured a perfectly balanced attack keyed by all-around play by setter Kya Behr.

Jaya Stroup led an aggressive offense, flattening Goddard's Tayln Thul with a winner that hit her in the face. Equally effective were Mikala Minton, Stevie Mayers and Alex Mayers. Meredith Mazouch delivered key digs and accurate serving.

Goddard downed Hutchinson 25-12, 25-19 in the third match.

The Panthers play No. 2 ranked 5A Lenexa St. James, No. 3 6A Stilwell-Blue Valley, No. 3 4A Clay Center, Washburn Rural, and SM North in Saturday's Topeka tournament.
