In April, the members of Preceptor Pi Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi were guests of Xi Delta Upsilon Chapter (Patty Blackwell, Barbara Davenport, Vicki Haselhorst, Cindy Rodie, Nancy Sundahl and Cindy White) for a celebration of Founder’s Day. They all met at Flavored Creations for lunch, followed by a program and awards. Jeri Brozek was chosen as Preceptor Pi’s Woman of the Year.

In May Preceptor Pi members closed out the sorority year with a trip to Hays, enjoying lunch at the Paisley Pear followed by a meeting at Susan Coulson’s house. The Chapter had a full year. To finance its many service projects, the Chapter held a raffle and fundraiser at the Pizza Hut. Among the service projects completed were the fruit for the USD 428 Backpack Project, cookies in appreciation of the city’s firefighters, EMT, police and sheriff’s departments, Christmas cards to the elderly and donations to community causes. Members offered a wide variety of programs at each meeting: Lustron homes, Mother Bickerdyke, Butter Sculpture at the Fair, Russell Stover and a fire extinguisher demonstration. All through the year, members enjoyed holiday socials plus a train ride at Abilene and a day trip to Pratt.
