STAFFORD — “The Golden Age of Grudges” was a segment on Sunday Morning last week. People are enraged! In this day and age of social media, they want to share their rage and do! Do you hold a grudge or does a grudge hold you? Holding a grudge is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die.
For our own sake we must learn to FORGIVE (the replacing of a grudge with forgiveness).
Social media is full of poisonous grudges and anger. Rage Page algorithms take the same story and spin it many ways to fit the listener’s rage. It has gotten to the point that the lie is easier to believe. It’s almost impossible to find the truth.
This program also talked about the book “The Social Reckoning: The True Story of Frances Haugen, the Facebook Files, Silicon Valley and the Story Behind the Film,” by Ethan Cole. This book will be on my next book order along with another must read, “Blockers,” by Michael Lewis.
I’m excited! We have a new program! Oct. 27 at 5:45 p.m. we will have our first meeting of the middle school reading group! We will be reading “The One and Only Ivan,” by Katherine Applegate. It is a gentle friendship story about patience, kindness and everyday adventures together. The story was chosen by those that showed up at the informational meeting. After we finish the story we will watch the movie at the library.
Don’t forget Medicare enrollment! Call for an appointment.
