Richard Duane ‘Dick’ Mohr, 84, passed away Sept. 18, 2026, at Ralph Thorne Care Center, Hutchinson, Kan. He was born on Sept. 3, 1942, in Great Bend, Kan., to Carl and Zoe (Hull) Mohr. On Aug. 26, 1961, he married Nita Peterson in Great Bend, who passed on Oct. 21, 2022.

A lifetime resident of Great Bend, Dick grew up with his siblings, Jimmy Mohr, Tommy Mohr, Carl Mohr, Robert Mohr, Douglas Mohr, Rosie Kruckenberg (Larry), and Gini Sharp. He owned and operated Dick’s Oilfield Construction. Dick was a veteran of the United States Army. He was an avid golfer and bowler – the first to score a 300 at Walnut Bowl – and a KU Jayhawk basketball fan. Dick also enjoyed fishing and camping.

Survivors include son, Ronald Wayne ‘Ronnie’ Mohr and companion Brenda Worley of Great Bend; two granddaughters, Shelby Payne and husband Dane Walker, and Calie Payne; one great grandson, Nixon Walker. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife; and daughter, Rhonda Lynn Payne.

Graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 28, 2026, at Great Bend Cemetery, with Pastor Sam Ryan presiding. The family requests that guests dress casually, supporting your favorite sports team if possible. Visitation will be Sunday, Sept. 27, 2026, from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m., with family receiving guests from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., all at Bryant Funeral Home.
