WICHITA – "Deep dark depression, excessive misery. If it weren't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all. Gloom, despair and agony on me."

The slumping Great Bend Bat Cats would agree with the "Hee-Haw" lyrics after losing their fourth consecutive Jayhawk Collegiate baseball game 10-9 to the Wichita Dirtbags Sunday.

"Dirtbags scored nine in the first. Down 10-9, with runners on second and third, two out, ninth, we popped out to end it," said Bat Cats coach Roger Ward.

The Dirtbags (2-8) are riding a 2-game winning streak after sweeping the Bat Cats 7-1 and 10-9.

DIRTBAGS 7, BAT CATS 1 – Kyle Walker singled in Kade Goeke for the Bat Cats run. Walker, Jhett Creel and Ian George each delivered two hits. Jesse Ponce doubled and Carson Lorch singled.

Bat Cats starter Kyler Horsman yielded six earned runs in 42/3 innings.

The Bat Cats play their longest home stretch of the summer Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at Al Burns Memorial Field.
