HOISINGTON — Hoisington's softball team rallied to sweep Hesston 6-5 and 11-8 in Friday's Central Kansas League doubleheader.

Hoisington (10-2, 6-2 CKL) drops Hesston to 8-5, 6-3 CKL.

CARDINALS 6, HESSTON 5 (G1) — Hoisington's Rylee Vaughn doubled home Myah Frederking and Rilynn Crawford scored on an error for the tying and game-winning sixth-inning runs.

Pitcher Brynn Tarlton (6-1, 3.20 ERA) struck out six batters and yielded two earned runs.

Frederking doubled home Kelsi Maier in the first and Marly Brewer singled home Tarlton and Reece Aylward in the second inning.

CARDINALS 11, HESSTON 8 (G2) — Hoisington's Aylward led a 15-hit attack with four hits and two runs batted in. Maier and Frederking also drove home two runs.

Tarlton, Brewer and Rylee Vaughn drove home runs.

Cardinal pitcher Aubree Martin (4-1, 5.66 ERA) yielded five earned runs.

The Cardinals led 8-2 when Hesston rallied for six runs to keep things interesting.
