KISMET — Ellinwood's Cohen Gunn pitched six masterful innings and delivered a clutch double to spark the Eagles past Southwestern Heights 6-2 in Wednesday's 3A baseball regional.

Gunn doubled home Brody Brack and Drake Hosman to ignite a game-clinching 4-run seventh inning. Trace Tudor singled in Gunn. Tudor scored on Shea Hoskins' single.

Gunn (6-2, 0.78 ERA) struck out 10 batters and reached his 105-pitch limit in the seventh inning. Gunn has 89 strikeouts in 45 innings.

Hoskins' first-inning single drove home Hosman. The Mustangs ' Sigala doubled and scored on an error. Gunn scored on a sixth-inning Hoskins' groundout.

Ellinwood (13-12) plays at Russell (20-5) in Monday's semifinal game.
