Eagles win Halstead golf title

HALSTEAD — Ellinwood's mental toughness paid dividends when Luke Heinz (82, 39-43) earned medalist honors and the Eagles (356) survived a wild day of weather to win the Halstead Invitational golf title.

"The team battled through challenging weather conditions, rain, wind and a little bit of everything," said Ellinwood coach Andrew WIttenberg. The team's resilience paid off."

Also counting for Ellinwood were third-place Remi Thomas (88), fifth-plce Austin Brack (93) and fifth-place Keaton Lewis (93).
