MACKSVILLE — Macksville's Gabriel Mullen celebrated a lineman's dream by scoring a touchdown on a fumble recovery in the end zone of a 52-6 Central Prairie victory over Stafford County rival St. John.

Mustang quarterback Brandon Franklin rushed for two scores and passed for a touchdown. He rushed for a pair of 2-pointers and passed for a conversion.

Franklin scored on 1 and 35-yard runs and completed a game-ending 23-yard touchdown pass to Nolan Adams. Tailback Sam Torres scored on on a pair of 5-yard runs.

St. John speedster Jericho Mawhirter delivered the Tigers' highlight on a 70-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.

Macksville first-year coach Jeff Savage has directed the Mustangs to a 2-0 start after a winless record last year.
