MEDICINE LODGE — One-hundred degree temperatures created a safety issue when several golfers experienced heat-related illness in Tuesday's 9-hole girls golf tournament.

Play was canceled with two holes left after several players had heat-related issues.

Larned's Ariana Meyer and Khloe Smith led the tournament and Hoisington's Samantha Lovett was contending for a top 10 spot.

Two Larned junior varsity players completed nine holes.
