HAYS — Great Bend Panther Sydney Stein won the 800 meters (2:25.11) for the Panthers' lone first-place finish at Thursday's Jake Bowman Track Invitational.

Panthers earning runner-up finishes were Tavon Stroup, 800 (2:01.26) and 1,600 (4:41.43); Decorah Schroeter, 1,600 (5:42.56); and Karys Leu, 200 (25.78).

Stroup's 800 meters, Schroeter's 1,600 meters and Leu's 200 meters were season-best times.

Others posting season-best performances were fourth-place Schroeter, 3,200 (12:00.35); seventh-place Brogan Lashley, 3,200 (10:28.55); fourth-place Kimberly Hofflinger, javelin (115-8); and seventh-place Allie Gerhardt, discus (103-8).

Great Bend's girls scored 67 points to finish fifth. Great Bend's boys scored 34 points and finished eighth.

The Andale girls (145) and Andale boys (144) placed first. The Hays girls (128) and Dodge City boys (126) finished in second place.
