HAYS — Great Bend's Ethan Somers (74, 37-37) tied for medalist honors at Monday's Great Bend Golf Invitational played in 81-degree weather with 10 to 15 mph easterly winds.
Somers birdied Nos. 12 and 17 down the stretch to tie Garden City's Brayden Walter (74) and Dodge City's Nathan Schulte (74) for first place.
Great Bend (316) shot a season low score behind Dodge City (306) and Hays High (312) at the Hays Municipal Golf Course.
The Panthers counted scores by fourth-place Alec Premer, 75 (36-39); 17th-place Nash Lindberg (83, 41-42) and 18th-place Zack Hart (84, 41-43).
The Panthers recorded a season high seven birdies. Alec Premer birdied Nos. 6, 7 and 9. Schartz birdied No. 17. Hart birdied No. 5.
