Student Library Assistant Madison Dombroski will be focusing on different seniors throughout the year to spotlight, and this will be featured in our Check It Out column. Today we have two Senior Spotlights. Featured Senior Spotlights are Olivia Rapp and Alex Markson.
Olivia Rapp is a senior at EHS. Her family members are Dana Rapp, Branden Rapp, Lexie Woods, Julianne Stock, and her cats Sweet-pea and Mosi. The book she would recommend is Alice in Zombieland. She really liked this book because it was fun to read. It’s a romance, thriller and a comedy. Also it has zombies, who wouldn’t want to read zombie books? Olivia’s favorite quote is “If you can dream it you can do it,” by Walt Disney. Something she said that people would be surprised about her is that she is not from Kansas. She was born in Montana and moved here before sixth grade. Her favorite staff member at Ellinwood High School is Ms. Brack, because she is always there for her and able to talk to her. She has made a huge impact in her life and future career. Olivia said that she appreciates everything Ms. Brack has done for her, and that she looks up to her because no matter the challenge, she faces it with a smile and kindness. Olivia’s plan after graduation is to go to Barton and get her degree in Nursing to become a registered nurse. Then she wants to get a job as a medical and surgical nurse who assists surgeons in the operating room. After getting a good job she wants to settle down, get married and live in a big house in the mountains. We wish Olivia a great year in her senior chapter!
Alex Markson is a senior at EHS. His family is Justin Van Dyke. The book he would recommend is The Great Gatsby, by F. Scott Fitzgerald. He likes to wrestle and play soccer when he has free time. His greatest challenge would be having to make new friends. Alex’s advice for new students is make friends and enjoy your classes. We wish Alex a great year in his senior chapter!
