Members and directors of the Stafford County Historical & Genealogical Society gathered Sept. 14 for the organization’s 2026 Annual Meeting.

Among business was the adoption of revised bylaws. The updated bylaws bring the Society’s governing document in line with its current operations and provide a clearer framework for the organization’s membership, Board of Directors, officers and administration. The revisions are intended to help ensure that the Society’s governing procedures remain practical and effective for the times.

The Society welcomed Dianne Rohar as a new member of the Board of Directors. Board members Marceline Masten’s and Barbara Grimmett’s terms were renewed.

A new slate of officers was selected for the coming year. Marceline Masten will continue as president and Pat Houston as vice president. Leslie Tanner was elected secretary, and David Curtis was appointed treasurer.

Much of the remainder of the meeting focused on the Society’s 50th anniversary year and upcoming activities.
