Commissioners approve biennial bridge inspection report July 22

ST. JOHN — These are the minutes from the Stafford County Board of County Commissioner meeting.

The Stafford County Board of County Commissioners met on Wednesday, July 22, in the Commission Room in the Annex. Commissioner Garner called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m. Present: Bryce Garner, Todd Wycoff, and Jim Stanford.

Vanessa Cornwell, County Treasurer, presented the 2nd Quarter Investment Performance Report to the commissioners. She advised that the county earned $11,688.06 in interest on investments this quarter. She also presented a stipend request for Stephanie Smith as she has completed her commercial vehicle training. Commissioner Wycoff moved, and Commissioner Stanford seconded, to approve the monthly commercial vehicle stipend in the amount of $173 for Stephanie Smith. Motion carried 3-0.

Carl Miller, Planning & Zoning, and Cheryl Budge, County Appraiser, met with the commissioners regarding Information on Industrial Revenue Bond Exemptions. Discussion was also held on possible changes to the Neighborhood Revitalization Program as it is up for renewal at the end of the year.

Commissioner Wycoff moved, and Commissioner Stanford seconded, to approve the minutes of the July 15th meeting. Motion carried 3-0.

Commissioner Wycoff moved, and Commissioner Stanford seconded, to approve the presented tax roll correction. Motion carried 3-0.

Commissioner Wycoff moved, and Commissioner Stanford seconded, to approve the biennial bridge inspection report presented on behalf of Trent Harman, Road & Bridge Supervisor. Motion carried 3-0.

During the meeting Accounts Payable vouchers and checks were signed from the following funds:

General - $25,158.16

Appraiser - $1,542

Solid Waste - $345.55

EMS - $1,990.61

Offender Registration - $5,000

PHEP Grant - $89.74

Sheriff Home Arrest - $5,000

Special Law Enforcement - $14,000

TOTAL - $87,384.66
