Richard Allen ‘Rick’ Ball, 73, passed away July 26, 2026, at Via Christi St. Francis, Wichita, Kan. He was born on Dec. 6, 1952, in Colby, Kan., to Ross and Blanche (Crawford) Ball. On Jan. 1, 1976, he married Lois Fletcher at their home in Great Bend, Kan.

A resident of Great Bend since 1975, Rick worked as a partner CPA at Adams, Brown, Beran and Ball, as well as working with multiple other businesses in Great Bend. He was a member of the Great Bend Chamber of Commerce and Ducks Unlimited. Rick enjoyed hunting, gardening, golfing, and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include his wife; son, Tom Ball and wife Mary of Shawnee; daughter, Jacque Newland and husband Jason of Olathe; two grandsons, Alex Newland and Sebastian Newland; three brothers, Bob Ball of Inman, Rex Ball of Hays, and Ron Ball of Colby; sister, Shari McCabe and husband Perry of McPherson; and additional extended family. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will take place from noon to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2026, with family receiving guests from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., all at Bryant Funeral Home. A private family service and interment will be scheduled. A public celebration of life will be held at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2026, at the Great Bend Columbus Club 862. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been designated to the Golden Belt Community Foundation, in care of Bryant Funeral Home, 1425 Patton Rd., Great Bend, KS 67530.
