Bertille ‘Berdy’ Herrman, 94, passed away July 28, 2026, at Leisure Homestead, in Stafford, Kan. She was born April 2, 1932, in Antonino, to Henry and Clara (Pfannenstiel) Meier. She married Elmer Herrman Nov. 14, 1950, in Antonino. He passed away March 31, 1995.

Berdy worked for USD 428 as a cook for 30 years and found pleasure in seeing all the kids throughout the years. She then went to the Senior Center and provided meals and made long lasting friendships. Her love for baking and cooking was evident at family gatherings. Her greatest times were spent watching her grandkids. She was a faithful member of St. Rose Catholic Church and Altar Society rosary. Her legacy will live on in her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Survivors include son, Neal Herrman and his wife Faye of Great Bend; daughter: Rebecca Bell-Desmarteau of Great Bend; sisters, Rosie Schmidt, Leota Legleiter; brother, Ernie Meier; daughter-in-law, Jeanie Herrman of Great Bend; sister-in-law, Henrietta Meier; grandchildren, James Boese (Marissa) of Castle Rock, Colo., Kathryn Owens of Raytown, Mo., Bette Hartshorn of Great Bend, Angel Gonzalez (Hugo) of Hoisington, Shawn Beyer of Encinitas, Calif., Kent Beyer (Mallory) of Temecula, Calif., Daniel Herrman of Denver, Colo., Marissa Deschamps of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, Matthew Herrman of Kansas City, Mo., Joseph Herrman of Fort Scott; 21 great grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; treasured husband of 45 years, Elmer Herrman; son, Gene Herrman; daughters, Bonnie Cutrino, Sandy Beyer; brothers; Milton Meier, Walter Meier, Robert Meier, Ralph Meier; sisters, Tina Ross, Gladys Moore, Louise Stabb; sisters-in-law, Teresa Meier, Shirley Meier, Lily Meier, Norma Meier; brothers-in-law, Louie Ross, Joe Stabb, Millard Moore, Elmer Schmidt, Leroy Legleiter; and one great great grandchild, Trevor Owens.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Aug. 3, 2026, at St. Rose Catholic Church with Father Amir Duraisamy presiding. Burial will follow at Great Bend Cemetery. Visitation will be available from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 2, 2026, with an Altar Society Rosary at 4 p.m. and a Vigil with Rosary at 7 p.m., at Bryant Funeral Home.
