Waterpark is open
pool opens 2026

Rain on Saturday delayed the opening of the Wetlands Waterpark in Great Bend, but sunny skies brought a crowd on Sunday.

The waterpark is located at 2303 Main in Brit Spaugh Park. Weather permitting, it is open seven days a week from 12:30-5:30 p.m. Starting in June, the pool will also be open from 7-9 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays for Family Swim Nights.

The park only opens if the forecasted high temperature is 75 degrees Fahrenheit or higher, and decisions are not made before 11 a.m.

The Wetlands Waterpark is owned by the City of Great Bend and operated by the Great Bend Recreation Commission. It features eight slides, spray features, zero-depth entry to the water feature, a tipping bucket, a swimming pool with a divided shallow end.

By the time the waterpark closes in mid-August, the City of Great Bend is expected to have a contract to build its replacement, an 11,047-square-foot pool that will be ready to open in the 2027 season. The project is estimated to cost over $9 million, to be paid for by the City’s 0.15% Quality of Life sales tax.
