Julia ‘Alice’ Barber, 81, cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, found eternal peace on June 26, 2026, after a life marked by love and devotion. Born on March 7, 1945, in Hammond, Ind., Alice was the third of 11 children born to Joseph and Cynthia (Gutscher) Anderson. Her early years were shaped by frequent moves until her family finally settled in Kansas, where she met the love of her life, Terry Barber.
Alice and Terry married on Oct. 20, 1963, and together they raised two sons, John and Willy. Terry’s passing on April 4, 2015, marked a painful chapter in Alice’s life and in the end, she was ready to be reunited with him. Alice’s passions included reading, puzzles, and most of all, spending time with her family, especially her beloved granddaughters, Elizabeth and Brittnee.
Alice is survived by her sons, John and Willy his wife Michelle; her granddaughters, Elizabeth and Brittnee; as well as sisters, Rosey Randolph and Cindy Schade; brothers, Joe (Linda), Mickey (Becky), Jimmie, and Ronnie (Darlene) Anderson along with their families. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Terry; sisters, Kay Legg and Peggy Naylor; brothers, Rudy and Donnie Anderson; brother-in-law, Dale Randolph; and sister-in-law, Susan Anderson.
