HAYS — Ronald Joy Stiles, 82, passed away May 16, 2026, at Southwind at Spearville Senior Living, Spearville, Kan. He was born Dec. 25, 1943, in Golden, Mo., to Milburn Ebineser and Alice Marie (Phillips) Stiles.

Joy, a graduate of Rozel High School, was a skilled lifelong welder working for Western Truck and Equipment of Great Bend and Roto Mix of Hoisington. He was a member of Community Christian Church, Great Bend, was an avid Kansas City Chiefs, KU, and KC Royals fan, enjoyed hunting, and using his skill to fabricate metal yard art. Above all, Joy cherished time with family.

He is survived by one son, Dustin Stiles of Russell; one brother, Robert Stiles of Iowa; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by son, Darin Stiles; daughter, Kimberly Mason; three brothers, Paul Stiles, Lonnie Stiles, Don Stiles; and three sisters, Faye Farewell, Louise Phillips, and Wanda Shields.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at Bryant Funeral Home, with Pastor Jon Hembree presiding. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Great Bend. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at Bryant Funeral Home, with the family present to receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Memorials may be given to Southwind at Spearville Senior Living, in care of Bryant Funeral Home, 1425 Patton Rd., Great Bend, KS 67530.
