BAT CATS 8, NEWTON 4 (G1) — Chase Chapman, Cesar Chavira and Peanut Brazzle each drove home two runs to spark an 8-4 victory.

Brazzle singled home Chase Kessler and Dylan Serna for a 3-0 lead after Chase Chapman scored on a bases-loaded second-inning walk.

In the third, Kirby Orth scored on Decarlo Delancy's second and Chapman's homer drove home Delancy for a 6-1 lead.

Chavira's single scored Jaxon Bunkers and Orth for an 8-3 lead.

Bat Cat starter Eli Lang worked five innings and reliever Brody Curran earned a save with two scoreless innings.

Newton's Walker Wakefield singed in Sam Benz and hit a fifth-inning home run. Caden Ehardt homered and Sam Benz singled in Sam Schmidt.
