Have you been to the library lately? We had 24 people here Friday in 4 hours. What were they doing? Using the computer, printing out tax forms that were on their phone, finding a book, starting a new puzzle, kids playing board games, kids playing in the children’s room, families playing in the children’s room, returning a book, asking questions, taking water monitors off the hydrant before the freeze, looking at the many new books for all ages. We do all kinds of things here. Come check us out!

We have two new activities for middle-school-age kids. Tuesday Oct. 27 at 5:30 p.m. we have our first meeting of the Middle School Book/Movie club. The kids will read the book selected and we will talk about it each week and when the book is finished we will watch the movie together. If any High School kids would like to make a club let us know at the library and we’ll set one up.

The other activity is on Friday afternoons after school. We have had a group of middle schoolers come and enjoy an afternoon of playing board or card games. Encourage your Middle Schooler to come join us.

I have used AI a few times to make flyers or write material for grants and on the whole I have been very satisfied with the results. BUT I can’t tell you how important it is to check the results carefully. One time there were many misspellings and the last project had a reference to pornography on it! When I confronted AI the reply was that it was humorous. A correction was made when I said it was not appropriate and I ended up with a corrected document that was just what I needed. Using different AI for the same project can give you a choice in how you want your project to look or sound. Just always check the results carefully!

Our spots for Medicare Enrollment on Oct. 28 have been filled. If you need to have help, call us and we will put you on a waiting list and/or help you contact the representative. Those that are signed up need to remember to bring a list of their prescriptions and their Medicare card.
