Currently three kids that Kans for Kids are supporting are seeking financial help in the battles.

Layd’n Hinderliter, Enrique Lira and Kyson Chambers are all in need of financial and emotional support. Their families are all traveling a lot for treatment and could use funding to aid in their expenses.

Hinderliter just graduated from Chase High School. He has been battling Neuroblastoma since May of 2017. He currently receives radiation every month in Wichita at Children’s Mercy. He has been put into remission five times over those 10 years only to have it come back. Most recently, he was in remission just a year ago.

Hinderliter excelled on the golf course during his high school career playing sand greens at Chase. He made the state tournament as a sophomore but a cancer treatment the week prior to the state tournament left him too weak to play. He made the trip and was offered to play as little or as much as he wanted but was unable to compete.

His junior and senior years he qualified once again for the state tournaments, becoming somewhat of a celebrity on the sand green tour.

Lira is a 12-year-old boy from Great Bend. He was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) in July of 2025. He is currently at Children’s Mercy in Kansas City, where he will be staying for several weeks. He has been there for 17 days as of today. That surpasses his previous record 16.

Currently Lira has a Contribution Box set up at Harvest Nutrition in Larned in addition to the financial support through Kans for Kids. They are asking for coloring books, puzzles, toiletries, snacks and much more.

His mother keeps people updated through a Facebook page called ‘Enrique Strong’. She has been with him every step of the way while Dad is home caring for his three younger siblings.

Chambers is a 4-year-old from Larned. He was diagnosed in March of 2026 at the age of three with Burkitt Lymphoma. He and his family made several trips to Children’s Mercy in Kansas City. He is currently in remission. The wild spirit with a heart full of love for people and animals is always ready for a new adventure. He is a twin and has three siblings.

His kidneys started failing from the onset and he was flown to Children’s Mercy for care and treatment. He is currently one of the younger kids the organization is helping.

In addition to the funding set up by Kans for Kids, Equity Bank in Larned has a fund set up to help defray costs for the family.

If anyone wishes to make a donation to the trio, it can be done by mailing checks to Kans for Kids to PO Box 178 in Hoisington. If you want a contribution to go directly to one of the trio, just make a note in the memo or include it in the envelope.

As noted earlier, Kyson has the account set up at Equity Bank in Larned while Enrique and Layd’n have accounts established at the First Kansas Bank in Hoisington.
