Poor pitching and erratic defense.

The Junction City Brigade are tied the Great Bend Bat Cats 15-15 in Wednesday's wild and crazy Jayhawk Collegiate League first-place showdown.

The Bat Cats pitching and defense transformed into the Bad News Bears with 13 walks, three errors, two hit batters and five wild pitches.

The Brigade issued 14 walks with seven wild pitches.

The Brigade and Bat Cats combined for 30 runs on 12 hits.

Great Bend delivered a 4-run first. Cesar Chavira scored on Decarlo Delancy's single. Peanut Brazzle and Jaxon Bunkers scored on groundballs. Delancy scored on a passed ball.

The Brigade scored five runs in the first three innings.

Collin Ross scored on a wild pitch and Tyler Coffin scored on a L Firgens single. The Brigade added two runs on three walks, a hit batter and sacrifice fly. The Bat Cats saved a run when former Bat Cat Kyle Walker was ruled out on a potential sacrifice fly for leaving second base early.

Great Bend's George McCarroll scored on an error and the Brigade's Zac Becker scored on a groundout for 5-5 tie.

Two walks and two errors gift wrapped a 4-run Brigade fourth inning rally for a 9-6 lead.
