CLAFLIN – With a starting offensive line averaging 245 pounds, Central Plains pounded the football for a 48-0 victory over Macksville to start the 8-man football season Friday. 

Center Devin Daniels (250), left guard Logan Stroede (254) and right guard Landon Daniels (232) surely have a fancy nickname paving the way for 222 yards rushing keyed by backs Joel Schreiber, Eli Hurley. Tight ends Paxton Dody (172) and Aiden Hekele (191) join the blocking fun up front.

Schreiber scored on 1- and 22-yard dashes. Eli Hurley scored on 1- and 17-yard touchdowns as the Oilers dominated the ground game. Quarterback Brodie Crites completed a 12-yard scoring strike to Hekele and a 25-yard touchdown pass to Hurley.

The Oilers' defense sacked Macksville for minus 54 yards rushing on 13 attempts. The Oilers scored on a safety.
