Panther golfers compete at Dodge City

HAYS — Great Bend's 39th place Nash Lindberg (82, 44-38) and Cal Schartz (82, 39-43) led the Panthers at Thursday's' Dodge City Golf Invitational in 83-degree weather with 20 to 37 mph northerly winds.

The Panthers also counted scores by 42nd-place Ethan Somers, 83 (43-40); and 49th-place Alec Premer, 84 (39-45).

Birdies were recorded by Lindberg (No. 4), Alec Premer (No. 5) and Zack Hart (No. 12).

The Panthers fired a season low (331) to placed ninth behind team champion Maize South (286) and runner-up WIchita Carroll (291).

Tying for low score were Wichita Collegiate's Bronx Esterline (68) with six birdies including Nos. 16 and 18, and Garden City's Brayden Walter (68) with five birdies.
